Related Product Information for anti-CXADR antibody
The Coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor (CAR) is a membrane glycoprotein with a cytoplasmic domain, a transmembrane domain and an extracellular region consisting of two immunoglobulin-like domains, an amino-terminal immunoglobulin variable (IgV)-related domain (D1), which is distal to the cell surface, and a proximal IgC2 domain (D2). The Coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor has been shown to exhibit tumor suppression activity in human bladder and prostate cancer cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane receptor for group B coxsackieviruses and subgroup C adenoviruses. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 15, 18, and 21. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

CXADR: a component of the epithelial apical junction complex that is essential for the tight junction integrity. Proposed to function as a homophilic cell adhesion molecule. Recruits MPDZ to intercellular contact sites. Probably involved in transepithelial migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) through adhesive interactions with AMICA1 located in the plasma membrane of PMN.

Protein type: Receptor, misc.; Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q21.1

Cellular Component: extracellular space; neuron projection; protein complex; tight junction; integral to plasma membrane; basolateral plasma membrane; apicolateral plasma membrane; acrosome; extracellular region; intercellular junction; lipid raft; nucleoplasm; adherens junction; growth cone; plasma membrane; cell junction; neuromuscular junction; filopodium

Molecular Function: integrin binding; viral receptor activity; identical protein binding; protein binding; beta-catenin binding; cell adhesion molecule binding; PDZ domain binding; receptor binding

Biological Process: intercellular junction assembly and maintenance; mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; neutrophil chemotaxis; entry of virus into host cell; regulation of immune response; heart development; gamma-delta T cell activation; heterophilic cell adhesion; cardiac muscle fiber development; germ cell migration; homotypic cell-cell adhesion; actin cytoskeleton reorganization; blood coagulation; leukocyte migration; defense response to virus

Product Notes

The CXADR cxadr (Catalog #AAA245710) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Monoclonal (IgG1) to Human CXADR reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CXADR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). ICC (1 - 2 ug/ml), IHC-P (5 ug/ml), WB (0.2 - 2 ug/ml) Usage: Suitable for Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Western Blot: 0.2-2 ug/ml. Detects CAR in lysates of CHO cells transfected with hCAR and mouse small intestine lysates. Immunocytochemistry: 1-2 ug/ml. Positive immunostaining for CAR in HeLa cells,.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CXADR cxadr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CXADR, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
