Related Product Information for anti-cTnI antibody
Description: cTnI has an apparent molecular weight of 22.5 kDa. cTnI is a candidate marker with acceptable sensitivity and specificity for AMI and other cardiac diseases. Troponin, a molecule that binds to the thin filament (actin) of striated muscle fibers, acts with intracellular calcium to control the interaction of the thin filament with the thick filament (myosin), thus regulating muscle contraction. Troponin I prevents muscle contraction in the absence of calcium, which has two skeletal muscle isoforms with considerable amino acid sequence homology. cTnI contains an additional N-terminal sequence and is highly specific for myocardium.
Function: Troponin I is the inhibitory subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity.
Subunit Structure: Binds to actin and tropomyosin. Interacts with TRIM63. Interacts with STK4/MST1.
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated at Ser-42 and Ser-44 by PRKCE; phosphorylation increases myocardium contractile dysfunction (By similarity). Phosphorylated at Ser-23 and Ser-24 by PRKD1; phosphorylation reduces myofilament calcium sensitivity. Phosphorylated preferentially at Thr-31. Phosphorylation by STK4/MST1 alters its binding affinity to TNNC1 (cardiac Tn-C) and TNNT2 (cardiac Tn-T).
Similarity: Belongs to the troponin I family.

NCBI Description

Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponin C (TnC), is one of 3 subunits that form the troponin complex of the thin filaments of striated muscle. TnI is the inhibitory subunit; blocking actin-myosin interactions and thereby mediating striated muscle relaxation. The TnI subfamily contains three genes: TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch, TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch, and TnI-cardiac. This gene encodes the TnI-cardiac protein and is exclusively expressed in cardiac muscle tissues. Mutations in this gene cause familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Troponin I is the inhibitory subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity.

Product Notes

The cTnI tnni3 (Catalog #AAA9602586) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The cTnI Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's cTnI can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1:10000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the cTnI tnni3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "cTnI, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
