NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a specific binding protein for a vitamin A family member and is thought to play an important role in retinoic acid-mediated differentiation and proliferation processes. It is structurally similar to the cellular retinol-binding proteins, but binds only retinoic acid at specific sites within the nucleus, which may contribute to vitamin A-directed differentiation in epithelial tissue. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CRABP1: Cytosolic CRABPs may regulate the access of retinoic acid to the nuclear retinoic acid receptors. Belongs to the calycin superfamily. Fatty-acid binding protein (FABP) family.
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q24
Cellular Component: cytosol
Molecular Function: protein binding; retinoid binding; retinoic acid binding; transporter activity; retinal binding; retinol binding
Biological Process: transport; multicellular organismal development; signal transduction

Product Notes
The CRABP1 crabp1 (Catalog #AAA6000868) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CRABP1 (Cellular Retinoic Acid-binding Protein 1, Cellular Retinoic Acid-binding Protein I, CRABP-I, RBP5) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CRABP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CRABP1 crabp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CRABP1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
