Related Product Information for anti-COTL1 antibody
COTL1 (coactosin-like 1), also known as CLP, is a 142 amino acid cytoplasmic and cytoskeletal proteinthat belongs to the actin-binding proteins ADF family and coactosin subfamily. COTL1 is first identified inslime mold and is found at highest levels in kidney, placenta, lung and peripheral blood leukocytes. COTL1 isone of many proteins that participate in regulation of Actin's cytoskeleton through a calcium dependent mechanism, but has not been shown to have a direct effect on Actin depolymerization.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of the numerous actin-binding proteins which regulate the actin cytoskeleton. This protein binds F-actin, and also interacts with 5-lipoxygenase, which is the first committed enzyme in leukotriene biosynthesis. Although this gene has been reported to map to chromosome 17 in the Smith-Magenis syndrome region, the best alignments for this gene are to chromosome 16. The Smith-Magenis syndrome region is the site of two related pseudogenes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The COTL1 cotl1 (Catalog #AAA201218) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Coactosin-like Protein 1/COTL1 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Coactosin-like Protein 1/COTL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). The antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot and FACS analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COTL1 cotl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Coactosin-like Protein 1/COTL1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
