Mouse anti-Human CENP-A Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CENPA antibody
CENP-A Antibody: ATTO 390
Scientific Background: A replicated chromosome includes two kinetochores that control chromosome segregation during mitosis. The Centromere Protein-A, CENP-A, is a Histone H3-like protein that contains a C-terminal H3-like domain, which is required for centromere localization of CENP-A, and an antigenic N-terminal domain. CENP-A, originally isolated from HeLa cells, is essential for kinetochore targeting of CENP-C. In the presence of DNA CENP-A forms an octa-meric complex with histones H4, H2A, H2B. CENP-A specifically localizes to active centromeres and is a component of specialized centromeric nucleosomes, on which kinetochores are assembled. CENP-A is essential for nucleosomal packaging of centromeric DNA at interphase and functions as a centromere formation marker on the chromosome.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Centromeres are the differentiated chromosomal domains that specify the mitotic behavior of chromosomes. CENPA encodes a centromere protein which contains a histone H3 related histone fold domain that is required for targeting to the centromere. CENPA is proposed to be a component of a modified nucleosome or nucleosome-like structure in which it replaces 1 or both copies of conventional histone H3 in the (H3-H4)2 tetrameric core of the nucleosome particle. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
CENPA: a basic nuclear protein of the histone H3 family. May act as a core histone necessary for the assembly of centromeres. Contains a histone H3 related histone fold domain that is required for targeting to the centromere. CENPA is proposed to be a component of a modified nucleosome or nucleosome-like structure in which it replaces 1 or both copies of conventional histone H3 in the (H3-H4)2 tetrameric core of the nucleosome particle.

Product Notes
The CENPA cenpa (Catalog #AAA804105) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CENP-An Antibody: ATTO 390 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CENP-A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). 1:1000 (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CENPA cenpa for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CENP-A, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
