Mouse anti-Human CEACAM 1,5,6,8 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CEACAM5 antibody
CEACAM 1,5,6,8 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule)
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from cell culture supernatants and is routinely tested by flow cytometry on BOSC23 cells transiently transfected with a CEACAM5 expression vector.

Testing Data
(Fig. 1: Specificity Testing: BOSC cells were transiently transfected with|expression vectors containing either the cDNA of CEACAM1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 or a recombinant transmembrane-anchored PSG1 fusion protein. Recognition of CEACAM4 was tested on CHO cells stably transfected with a CEACAM4 expression vector. Expression of the constructs was confirmed with monoclonal antibodies known to recognize the corresponding proteins|(CEACAM1, 3, 4, 5 and 6; CEACAM7; CEACAM8; PSG1; green curves). An irrelevant monoclonal antibody served as a negative control (black curves). For specificity testing, protein G purified antibody was tested on all CEACAM|transfectants. A positive signal was obtained with CEACAM1, CEACAM5, CEACAM6 and CEACAM8 expressing cells (red curves).)
Testing Data
(Fig. 2: Domain organization of the human CEACAM family. The CEACAM family consists of two subgroups, the CEACAM and the PSG subgroup. Old names appear below the consensus nomenclature. CEACAM family members are membrane-bound by either via a transmembrane domain or a GPI anchor (green arrow) whereas the PSGs are secreted glycoproteins. N-linked glycosylation sites are shown as drum sticks. The IgV domains are shown in red, the IgC domains in blue.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Members of the CEACAM subfamily, including CEACAM5, belong to the CEA gene family. For general information on the CEA gene family, see CEACAM1 (MIM 109770).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
Uniprot Description
CEACAM5: Cell surface glycoprotein that plays a role in cell adhesion and in intracellular signaling. Receptor for E.coli Dr adhesins. Homodimer. Binding of E.coli Dr adhesins leads to dissociation of the homodimer. Found in adenocarcinomas of endodermally derived digestive system epithelium and fetal colon. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CEA family.

Product Notes
The CEACAM5 ceacam5 (Catalog #AAA605819) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CEACAM 1,5,6,8 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen Related Cell Adhesion Molecule) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CEACAM 1,5,6,8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). Suitable for use in flow cytometry, cell-ELISA, ELISA, Western blots and immunohistology on cryosections. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CEACAM5 ceacam5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CEACAM 1,5,6,8, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
