Applicable Applications for anti-CD68 antibody
Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)*
Application Notes
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. The Fc region of monoclonal antibodies may bind non-specifically to cells expressing low affinity Fc receptors. This may be reduced by using SeroBlock FcR.
Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100; Application Note: Membrane permeabilization is required for this application. MyBioSource recommends the use of Leucoperm for this purpose.
Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product may require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. See Martin-Manso for details. Staining has also been achieved without antigen retrieval, see Lu for details.
Western Blotting: Application Note: Non-reducing conditions recommended.
Preparation
Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography on Protein G from tissue culture supernatant
Immunogen
Purified Concanavalin A acceptor glycoprotein from P815 cell line
Buffer Solution
Target Species
Mouse
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C only. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.

Uniprot Description

CD68: Could play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells. Belongs to the LAMP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: membrane; lysosome; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; endosome

Product Notes

The CD68 cd68 (Catalog #AAA224483) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD68 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)*, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistology Paraffin*, Western Blot (WB)*. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 1x106 cells in 100ul. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. See Martin-Manso for details. Staining has also been achieved without antigen retrieval, see Lu for details. Western Blotting: Application Note: Non-reducing conditions recommended. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD68 cd68 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD68, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
