Uniprot Description

CD68: Could play a role in phagocytic activities of tissue macrophages, both in intracellular lysosomal metabolism and extracellular cell-cell and cell-pathogen interactions. Binds to tissue- and organ-specific lectins or selectins, allowing homing of macrophage subsets to particular sites. Rapid recirculation of CD68 from endosomes and lysosomes to the plasma membrane may allow macrophages to crawl over selectin-bearing substrates or other cells. Belongs to the LAMP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: membrane; lysosome; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; endosome

Product Notes

The CD68 cd68 (Catalog #AAA6256799) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD68 (DKFZp686M18236, GP110, Macrophage Antigen CD68 (Microsialin), Macrosialin, Scavenger Receptor Class D Member 1, SCARD1) (MaxLight 750) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD68 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD68 cd68 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD68, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
