Related Product Information for anti-CD54 antibody
CD54 (ICAM-1) is a 90 kD member of the C2 subset of immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a transmembrane molecule with 7 potential N-glycosylated sites, expressed on resting monocytes and endothelial cells and can be upregulated on many other cells, e.g. with lymphokines, on B- and T-lymphocytes, thymocytes, dendritic cells and also on keratinocytes, chondrocytes, as well as epithelial cells. CD54 mediates cell adhesion by binding to integrins CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1) and to CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1). The interaction of CD54 with LFA-1 enhances antigen-specific T-cell activation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein which is typically expressed on endothelial cells and cells of the immune system. It binds to integrins of type CD11a / CD18, or CD11b / CD18 and is also exploited by Rhinovirus as a receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

ICAM1: a type I membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Is a ligand for the leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein (Integrin alpha-L/beta-2) and a Rhinovirus receptor. Typically expressed on endothelial cells and cells of the immune system. ICAM1 binds to integrins of type CD11a / CD18, or CD11b / CD18. Its expression is activated by p53 in an NF-kappaB-independent manner. Induced by TNFalpha in a process that involves IKKbeta.

Product Notes

The CD54 icam1 (Catalog #AAA1802083) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu CD54 Alexa Fluor700 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD54 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (QC tested). FC/FACS: The reagent is designed for analysis of human blood cells using 4ul reagent/100ul of whole blood or 106 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (0.4 ml) is sufficient for 100 tests. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD54 icam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD54, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
