Related Product Information for anti-CD230 antibody
CD230/Human prion protein (PrP), also known as PRNP, is a ubiquitously expressed GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein associating with lipid raft components and Functional Application (FUNC)tioning as a signaling molecule. CD230/PrP plays a role in apoptosis in a cell context-dependent manner, is involved in proliferation of epithelial cells and in distribution of junction-associated proteins in human enterocytes. Conversion of this normal cellular prion protein (PrPc) into an abnormal conformer (PrPSc) is the crucial step associated with triggering the pathogenesis of the prion neurodegenerative disorders, such as the Creutzfeld-Jakob disease (CJD). Whereas PrPc is rich in alpha-helices, the PrPSc form has higher content of beta-sheets and is resistant to proteinase K.

Product Notes

The CD230 prnp (Catalog #AAA1801778) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu CD230/Prion Purified reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD230/Prion can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: Recommended dilution: 0.5ug/ml, non-reducing conditions are essential. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD230 prnp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD230/Prion, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
