Related Product Information for ERP27 recombinant protein
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Endoplasmic Reticulum Resident Protein 27 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Glu26-Leu273 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.

Background: Endoplasmic reticulum resident protein 27, also known as ER protein 27, C12orf46 and ERP27, is an endoplasmic reticulum luminal protein which is a member of the protein disulfide isomerase family. ERP27 contains one thioredoxin domain and does not contain a CXXC active site motif. ERP27 is widely expressed in many tissues; it has highest expression in pancreas, with lower levels in spleen, lung, kidney, thymus, and bone marrow. ERP27 interacts with PDIA3 and binds somatostatin-14 via hydrophobic interactions. ERP27 may act as a protease, protein disulfide isomerase, thiol-disulfide oxidase or phospholipase.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a noncatalytic member of the protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) family of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteins. The canonical protein has an N-terminal signal sequence, two thioredoxin (TRX)-like domains and a C-terminal ER-retention sequence. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms; some of which lack domains present in the canonical protein. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]

Uniprot Description

MiscellaneousDoes not contain a CXXC active site motif indicating that it is a catalytically redox-inactive member of the protein disulfide isomerase family.

Product Notes

The ERP27 erp27 (Catalog #AAA2556608) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endoplasmic Reticulum Resident Protein 27, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
