Application Notes
The antibody can be used to inhibit Sag-induced proliferation of MHC class II thymocytes (Gregory. et al, 2000). It can increase intracellular calcium concentration in MHC class II thymocytes if used toghether with rabbit anti-mouse antibodies (Gregory. et al, 2000). This antibody is shown to be useful in flow cytometry (Gregory. et al, 2000). Immunofluorescence is a method for which this antibody can also be used (Brocks. et al, 2017). The antibody can be utilized in immunihistochemistry to seperate human cells from cells of other animals (Goan. et al, 2000). The antibody is also reccomended for use in ELISA and immunoprecipitation.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the CD1 family of transmembrane glycoproteins, which are structurally related to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins and form heterodimers with beta-2-microglobulin. The CD1 proteins mediate the presentation of primarily lipid and glycolipid antigens of self or microbial origin to T cells. The human genome contains five CD1 family genes organized in a cluster on chromosome 1. The CD1 family members are thought to differ in their cellular localization and specificity for particular lipid ligands. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the plasma membrane and to recycling vesicles of the early endocytic system. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]

Uniprot Description

Antigen-presenting protein that binds self and non-self lipid and glycolipid antigens and presents them to T-cell receptors on natural killer T-cells.

Product Notes

The CD1a cd1a (Catalog #AAA488726) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-CD1a [CBT6] reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD1a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). The antibody can be utilized in immunihistochemistry to seperate human cells from cells of other animals (Goan. et al, 2000). The antibody is also reccomended for use in ELISA and immunoprecipitation. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD1a cd1a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD1a, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
