Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG2a, kappa
Clone Number
68-5A5
Specificity
It recognizes a transmembrane glycoprotein of 95kDa, identified as CD18 or integrin -2 (Workshop III). It complexes non-covalently with either L, M, or X integrin (CD11a, b, or c) to form the heterodimers, LFA-1, Mac-1, and p150,95, respectively. LFA-1 is the receptor for three members of the Ig supergene family of proteins, ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), and Mac-1 and p150,95 bind to ICAM-1, fibrinogen, and iC3b. ICAM-3 (CD50). CD18/CD11 heterodimeric molecules are involved with cell/cell and cell/extracellular adhesion in immune and inflammatory responses. This MAb blocks these cellular interactions.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an integrin beta chain, which combines with multiple different alpha chains to form different integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. The encoded protein plays an important role in immune response and defects in this gene cause leukocyte adhesion deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

ITGB2: the integrin beta 2 subunit. Can combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. For example, beta 2 combines with the alpha L chain to form the integrin LFA-1, and combines with the alpha M chain to form the integrin Mac-1. Participates in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. Defects are the cause of leukocyte adhesion deficiency type I (LAD1).

Protein type: Cell adhesion; Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Receptor, misc.

Product Notes

The ITGB2 itgb2 (Catalog #AAA439122) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD18 / IntegrinBeta-2 (ITGB2) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody reacts with Human. Others not tested and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD18 / IntegrinBeta-2 (ITGB2) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Functional Studies, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF). Functional Studies (Order Ab without Azide) Flow Cytometry (0.5-1ug/million cells in 0.1ml) Immunofluorescence (0.5-1ug/ml). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGB2 itgb2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD18 / IntegrinBeta-2 (ITGB2), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
