Related Product Information for anti-CD13 antibody
Rat anti Mouse CD13 antibody, clone R3-63 recognizes mouse aminopeptidase N (APN), a cell surface protein homologous with human CD13. In the mouse, CD13 is a non-covalently linked homodimer of approximately 150kDa subunits expressed by a variety of cells including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cell and veiled cells. Rat anti Mouse CD13 antibody, clone R3-63 has been reported to block mouse APN enzyme activity (Kamoun et al. 2009).

Uniprot Description

CD13: Broad specificity aminopeptidase. Plays a role in the final digestion of peptides generated from hydrolysis of proteins by gastric and pancreatic proteases. May play a critical role in the pathogenesis of cholesterol gallstone disease. May be involved in the metabolism of regulatory peptides of diverse cell types including small intestinal and tubular epithelial cells, macrophages, granulocytes and synaptic membranes from the CNS. Found to cleave antigen peptides bound to major histocompatibility complex class II molecules of presenting cells and to degrade neurotransmitters at synaptic junctions. Is also implicated as a regulator of IL-8 bioavailability in the endometrium, and therefore may contribute to the regulation of angiogenesis. Is used as a marker for acute myeloid leukemia and plays a role in tumor invasion. In case of human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) infection, serves as receptor for HCoV-229E spike glycoprotein. Mediates as well human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection. Belongs to the peptidase M1 family.

Product Notes

The CD13 anpep (Catalog #AAA212549) is an Antibody produced from Rat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD13 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistology Paraffin*. Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/50; Maximum Dilution: 1/100 Immunohistology - Paraffin: Application Note: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. See Bertilaccio et al. for details. . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD13 anpep for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD13, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
