NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transcription cyclin family. These cyclins may regulate transcription through their association with and activation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) that phosphorylate the C-terminal domain (CTD) of the large subunit of RNA polymerase II. This gene product may play a dual role in regulating CDK and RNA polymerase II activities. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: May play a role in transcriptional regulation. In vitro, is associated with a kinase activity toward both RNA polymerase II C-terminal domain and CDK2 (CAK). Ref.9

Subunit structure: Part of a cyclin-kinase pair in the RNA polymerase II holoenzyme. Binds to CDK9.

Tissue specificity: Ubiquitously expressed. Highest levels in testis.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the cyclin family. Cyclin C subfamily.

Product Notes

The CCNK ccnk (Catalog #AAA6130409) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CCNK (Cyclin K, Cyclin-K, CPR4, MGC9113) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CCNK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CCNK ccnk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CCNK, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
