Mouse anti-Chicken c-Kit Monoclonal Antibody | anti-KIT antibody
Mouse Anti-Chicken c-Kit-PE
c-Kit is a 145 kDa transmembrane receptor-type protein tyrosine kinase encoded by the c-Kit protooncogene and is the receptor for stem cell factor (SCF). 1 c-Kit acts to regulate a variety of biological responses including cell proliferation, apoptosis, chemotaxis and adhesion. 2, 3, 4, 5 The amino acid sequence of chicken c-kit shows 63% identity to mouse c-Kit and exhibits similar expression patterns in RNA blot analysis suggesting similar biological roles.1
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
The R-phycoerythrin (R-PE) conjugates are supplied as 0.1 mg in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3 and a stabilizing agent. Store at 2-8 degree C. Do not freeze!
Each reagent is stable for the period shown on the bottle label if stored as directed.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the human homolog of the proto-oncogene c-kit. C-kit was first identified as the cellular homolog of the feline sarcoma viral oncogene v-kit. This protein is a type 3 transmembrane receptor for MGF (mast cell growth factor, also known as stem cell factor). Mutations in this gene are associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, mast cell disease, acute myelogenous lukemia, and piebaldism. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
Uniprot Description
Function: This is the receptor for stem cell factor (mast cell growth factor). It has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity. Binding of the ligands leads to the autophosphorylation of KIT and its association with substrates such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (Pi3K).
Catalytic activity: ATP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine = ADP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine phosphate.
Subunit structure: Interacts with APS. Interacts with MPDZ (via the tenth PDZ domain). Interacts with PTPRU. Ref.7 Ref.8 Ref.9
Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
Involvement in disease: Defects in KIT are a cause of piebald trait (PBT) [
MIM:172800]. PBT is an autosomal dominant genetic developmental abnormality of pigmentation characterized by congenital patches of white skin and hair that lack melanocytes. Ref.13 Ref.14 Ref.15 Ref.17 Ref.18 Ref.19 Ref.20 Ref.22 Ref.27Defects in KIT are a cause of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) [
MIM:606764]. Ref.19 Ref.23 Ref.24 Ref.28 Ref.29Defects in KIT have been associated with testicular tumors (TEST) [
MIM:273300]. A common solid malignancy in males. Germ cell tumors of the testis constitute 95% of all testicular neoplasms. Ref.19
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Tyr protein kinase family. CSF-1/PDGF receptor subfamily.Contains 5 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains.Contains 1 protein kinase domain.

Product Notes
The KIT kit (Catalog #AAA673955) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse Anti-Chicken c-Kit-PE reacts with Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's c-Kit can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry. Flow Cytometry Suggested Dilution: <= 0.2 ug/10^6 cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KIT kit for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "c-Kit, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
