Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

(Immunohistochemical analysis of Beta-tubulin staining in human colon formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a class III member of the beta tubulin protein family. Beta tubulins are one of two core protein families (alpha and beta tubulins) that heterodimerize and assemble to form microtubules. This protein is primarily expressed in neurons and may be involved in neurogenesis and axon guidance and maintenance. Mutations in this gene are the cause of congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type 3. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]

Uniprot Description

TUBB3: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. TUBB3 plays a critical role in proper axon guidance and mantainance. Dimer of alpha and beta chains. Expression is primarily restricted to central and peripheral nervous system. Greatly increased expression in most cancerous tissues. Belongs to the tubulin family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q24.3

Product Notes

The TUBB3 tubb3 (Catalog #AAA8241496) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Beta-tubulin Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey, Dog, Chicken, Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Beta-tubulin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Western Blot: (1/5000 - 1/10000); Immunohistochemistry: (1/100 - 1/200); Immunoprecipitation: (1/100 - 1/200). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TUBB3 tubb3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-tubulin, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
