NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The oncogene BCL2 is a membrane protein that blocks a step in a pathway leading to apoptosis or programmed cell death. The protein encoded by this gene binds to BCL2 and is referred to as BCL2-associated athanogene. It enhances the anti-apoptotic effects of BCL2 and represents a link between growth factor receptors and anti-apoptotic mechanisms. Multiple protein isoforms are encoded by this mRNA through the use of a non-AUG (CUG) initiation codon, and three alternative downstream AUG initiation codons. A related pseudogene has been defined on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Product Notes
The BAG1 bag1 (Catalog #AAA6231735) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The BAG1 (BAG Family Molecular Chaperone Regulator 1, BAG-1, BCL-2 Associated Athanogene 1, BCL-2-associated Athanogene 1, BCL2-associated Athanogene, RAP46) (MaxLight 750) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's BAG1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IF: 35ug/ml Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BAG1 bag1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "BAG1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
