Related Product Information for anti-DDC antibody
DDC (EC 1.1.128) belongs to the family group II Decarboxylase (DDC, GAD, HDC and TYRD). DDC catalyzes the formation of tryptamine from L-tyrosine. It also acts on 5-hydroxy-LO-tryptophan and dihydroxy-L-Phenylalanine (DOPA). Human DDC (480 aa, chromosome 7p11) is a homodimer in the native state. It requires pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor.

NCBI Description

The encoded protein catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Defects in this gene are the cause of aromatic L-amino-acid decarboxylase deficiency (AADCD). AADCD deficiency is an inborn error in neurotransmitter metabolism that leads to combined serotonin and catecholamine deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

DDC: Catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-3,4- dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) to dopamine, L-5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin and L-tryptophan to tryptamine. Homodimer. Belongs to the group II decarboxylase family.

Product Notes

The DDC ddc (Catalog #AAA609374) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC reacts with Bovine, Canine, Guinea Pig, Human, Monkey, Rabbit, Rat, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 (ECL) (~50kD band) ELISA: 1:10,000-1:50,000 using 1ug/ml control peptide per well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DDC ddc for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aromatic L-Amino Acid Decarboxylase, DOPA Decarboxylase, DDC, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
