Related Product Information for anti-ApoO antibody
Description: ApoO: apolipoprotein O, also known as MYO25, FAM121B, MGC4825. Entrez Protein NP_077027. It is a chrondroitin-sulfate chain containing member of the apolipoprotein family and is an original glycoprotein up-regulated by diabetes in human Heart. Promotes cholesterol efflux from macrophage cells. Detected in HDL, LDL and VLDL. Secreted by a microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP)-dependent mechanism, probably as a VLDL-associated protein that is subsequently transferred to HDL. May be involved in myocardium-protective mechanisms against lipid accumulation.
Function: Component of the MICOS complex, a large protein complex of the mitochondrial inner membrane that plays crucial roles in the maintenance of crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and formation of contact sites to the outer membrane. Plays a crucial role in crista junction formation and mitochondrial function (PubMed:25764979). Can promote cardiac lipotoxicity by enhancing mitochondrial respiration and fatty acid metabolism in cardiac myoblasts (PubMed:24743151). Promotes cholesterol efflux from macrophage cells. Detected in HDL, LDL and VLDL. Secreted by a microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTTP)-dependent mechanism, probably as a VLDL-associated protein that is subsequently transferred to HDL (PubMed:16956892).
Subunit Structure: Component of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS) complex, composed of at least MINOS1/MIC10, CHCHD3/MIC19, CHCHD6/MIC25, APOOL/MIC27, IMMT/MIC60, APOO/MIC23/MIC26 and QIL1/MIC13. This complex was also known under the names MINOS or MitOS complex. he MICOS complex associates with mitochondrial outer membrane proteins SAMM50, MTX1 and MTX2 (together described as components of the mitochondrial outer membrane sorting assembly machinery (SAM) complex) and DNAJC11, mitochondrial inner membrane protein TMEM11 and with HSPA9 (PubMed:25764979, PubMed:25781180, PubMed:25997101). The MICOS and SAM complexes together with DNAJC11 are part of a large protein complex spanning both membranes termed the mitochondrial intermembrane space bridging (MIB) complex Interacts with IMMT/MIC60 (PubMed:25764979, PubMed:25781180). Interacts with MINOS1/MIC10 and APOOL/MIC27 (PubMed:25764979).
Post-translational Modifications: O-glycosylation; glycosaminoglycan of chondroitin-sulfate type.
Similarity: Belongs to the apolipoprotein O/MICOS complex subunit Mic27 family.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the apolipoprotein family. Members of this protein family are involved in the transport and metabolism of lipids. The encoded protein associates with HDL, LDL and VLDL lipoproteins and is characterized by chondroitin-sulfate glycosylation. This protein may be involved in preventing lipid accumulation in the myocardium in obese and diabetic patients. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosomes 3, 4, 5, 12 and 16.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

Can promote cardiac lipotoxicity by enhancing mitochondrial respiration and fatty acid metabolism in cardiac myoblasts (PubMed:24743151). Promotes cholesterol efflux from macrophage cells. Detected in HDL, LDL and VLDL. Product Notes

The ApoO apoo (Catalog #AAA9602806) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ApoO Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ApoO can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). ELISA: 1:10000 WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ApoO apoo for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ApoO, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
