NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells.Multiple isoforms are involved in various cellular functions such as cytoskeleton structure, cell mobility, chromosome movement and muscle contraction.
Subcellular location: Cytoplasm › cytoskeleton.
Post-translational modification: Oxidation of Met-45 by Mical to form methionine sulfoxide promotes actin filament depolymerization. Methionine sulfoxide is produced stereospecifically, but it is not known whether the (S)-S-oxide or the (R)-S-oxide is produced.
Miscellaneous: In Drosophila there are 6 closely related actin genes.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the actin family.

The Actin, pan reacts with Bovine, Canine, Chicken, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rabbit, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Actin, pan can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Immunoprecipitation (Denatured verified) (Use Protein G): 2ug/mg protein lysate Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml for 2hrs at RT Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): 1:200 for 30 min Requires boiling tissues sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20min. Positive Control: HeLa cells and skeletal muscle. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Act5C act5c for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Actin, pan, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
