Related Product Information for MMP2 recombinant protein
Ubiquitinous metalloproteinase that is involved in diverse functions such as rodeling of the vasculature, angiogenesis, tissue repair, tumor invasion, inflammation, and atherosclerotic plaque rupture. As well as degrading extracellular matrix proteins, can also act on several nonmatrix proteins such as big endothelial 1 and beta-type CGRP promoting vasoconstriction. Also cleaves KISS at a Gly-|-Leu bond. Appears to have a role in myocardial cell death pathways. Contributes to myocardial oxidative stress by regulating the activity of GSK3beta. Cleaves GSK3beta in vitro. Involved in the formation of the fibrovascular tissues.PEX, the C-terminal non-catalytic fragment of MMP2, posseses anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor properties and inhibits cell migration and cell adhesion to FGF2 and vitronectin. Ligand for integrin alpha-v/beta3 on the surface of blood vessels.

plays important roles in wound healing, angiogenesis, platelet aggregation, and tumor metastasis; mediates the response of the intrinsic glomerular mesangial cell to inflammatory stimuli [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

Ubiquitinous metalloproteinase that is involved in diverse functions such as remodeling of the vasculature, angiogenesis, tissue repair, tumor invasion, inflammation, and atherosclerotic plaque rupture. Product Notes

The MMP2 mmp2 (Catalog #AAA9420462) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length of 72 kDa type IV collagenase chain, 110-662aa. The Recombinant Rat 72 kDa type IV collagenase reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "72 kDa type IV collagenase, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
