Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 8 ELISA Kit | MMP-8 elisa kit

Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 8 ELISA Kit

Gene Names
MMP8; HNC; CLG1; MMP-8; PMNL-CL
Reactivity
Human
Synonyms
Matrix Metalloproteinase 8; Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 8 ELISA Kit; MMP-8 elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human MMP-8 and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
3.12 ng/ml - 100 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
1.0 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated MMP-8 concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human MMP-8 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add MMP-8 and MMP-8 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of MMP-8 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. However, the enzyme encoded by this gene is stored in secondary granules within neutrophils and is activated by autolytic cleavage. Its function is degradation of type I, II and III collagens. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Product Notes

The Human MMP-8 mmp8 (Catalog #AAA044946) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA044946 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MMP-8. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Matrix Metalloproteinase 8, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
