Phenomenon explanation
The possible reasons that the actual band size differs from the predicted are as follows:
1. Splice variants: Alternative splicing may create different sized proteins from the same gene.
2. Relative charge: The composition of amino acids may affects the charge of the protein.
3. Post-translational modification: Phosphorylation, glycosylation, methylation etc.
4. Post-translation cleavage: Many proteins are synthesized as pro-proteins, and then cleaved to give the active form.
5. Polymerization of the target protein: Dimerization, multimerization etc.
Usage
Reconstitute in 10mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
Preparation and Storage
Storage: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8°C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80°C for 12 months.

Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37°C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Uniprot Description

LTB: Cytokine that binds to LTBR/TNFRSF3. May play a specific role in immune response regulation. Provides the membrane anchor for the attachment of the heterotrimeric complex to the cell surface. Isoform 2 is probably non-functional. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: extracellular space; membrane; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: cytokine activity; tumor necrosis factor receptor binding

Biological Process: skin development; positive regulation of interleukin-12 biosynthetic process; immune response; gene expression; lymph node development

Product Notes

The LTb ltb (Catalog #AAA2012386) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E. coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Lymphotoxin Beta (LTb) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Lymphotoxin Beta (LTb) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control, Immunogen, SDS-PAGE, WB (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.) . Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the LTb ltb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lymphotoxin Beta (LTb), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
