Related Product Information for LSM1 recombinant protein
Background: LSM1 is an Sm-like protein. Sm-like proteins can be detected in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family. Sm-like proteins include the Sm sequence motif, which consists of two regions separated by a linker of variable length that folds as a loop. The Sm-like proteins are thought to form a stable heteromer present in tri-snRNP particles, which are important for pre-mRNA splicing. LSM1 has a role in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation and binds specifically to the 3''-terminal U-tract of U6 snRNA. LSM1 also facilitates RNA protein interactions and structural modifications which are required during ribosomal subunit assembly.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the LSm family of RNA-binding proteins. LSm proteins form stable heteromers that bind specifically to the 3'-terminal oligo(U) tract of U6 snRNA and may play a role in pre-mRNA splicing by mediating U4/U6 snRNP formation. Increased expression of this gene may play a role in cellular transformation and the progression of several malignancies including lung cancer, mesothelioma and breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene, and a pseudogene of this gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 9. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2011]

Uniprot Description

LSM1: Plays a role in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation. Binds specifically to the 3'-terminal U-tract of U6 snRNA. Belongs to the snRNP Sm proteins family.

Product Notes

The LSM1 lsm1 (Catalog #AAA8121629) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Tyr13 3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "LSM1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
