Reactivity
Human
Synonyms
Lysyl oxidase; Human Lysyl oxidase ELISA Kit; LOX elisa kit

For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of LOX. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between LOX and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between LOX and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/mL
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for LOX elisa kit
Intended Uses: This LOX ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of HumanLOX. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: LOX ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-LOX antibody and an LOX-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with LOX-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the LOX concentration since LOX from samples and LOX-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-LOX antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by LOX from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind LOX-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The LOX concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is an extracellular copper enzyme that initiates the crosslinking of collagens and elastin. The enzyme catalyzes oxidative deamination of the epsilon-amino group in certain lysine and hydroxylysine residues of collagens and lysine residues of elastin. In addition to crosslinking extracellular matrix proteins, the encoded protein may have a role in tumor suppression. Defects in this gene are a cause of autosomal recessive cutis laxa type I (CL type I). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Uniprot Description

LOX: Responsible for the post-translational oxidative deamination of peptidyl lysine residues in precursors to fibrous collagen and elastin. In addition to cross-linking of extracellular matrix proteins, may have a direct role in tumor suppression. Belongs to the lysyl oxidase family.

Product Notes

The Human LOX lox (Catalog #AAA745192) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA745192 ELISA Kit recognizes Human LOX. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Lysyl oxidase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
