NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is an inhibitory receptor found on peripheral mononuclear cells, including natural killer cells, T cells, and B cells. Inhibitory receptors regulate the immune response to prevent lysis of cells recognized as self. The gene is a member of both the immunoglobulin superfamily and the leukocyte-associated inhibitory receptor family. The gene maps to a region of 19q13.4 called the leukocyte receptor cluster, which contains at least 29 genes encoding leukocyte-expressed receptors of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The encoded protein has been identified as an anchor for tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1, and may induce cell death in myeloid leukemias. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description
LAIR-1: an inhibitory receptor found on peripheral mononuclear cells, including NK cells, T cells, and B cells. Inhibitory receptors regulate the immune response to prevent lysis of cells recognized as self. The gene is a member of both the immunoglobulin superfamily and the leukocyte-associated inhibitory receptor family. The gene maps to a region called the leukocyte receptor cluster, which contains at least 25 genes encoding leukocyte-expressed receptors of the immunoglobulin superfamily.

Product Notes
The LAIR1/CD305 lair1 (Catalog #AAA2569146) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Gln22-His1 63. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Leukocyte-associated Immunoglobulin-like Receptor 1/LAIR1/CD305 Biotinylated, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
