Related Product Information for KSR1 recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human KSR1 (L639F) (335-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: KSR1 or Kinase Suppressor of Ras 1 interacts with various kinases of the Raf/MEK/extracellular signal-regulated kinase pathway to enhance its activation. KSR1 is regulated in response to a specific mode of dimerization of its kinase domain, which is termed the side-to-side dimer, whereas KSR1 also participates in forming side-to-side heterodimers with RAF and this can trigger RAF activation. KSR1 has an essential protective role in the intestinal epithelial cell during inflammation through activation of cell survival pathways (1). KSR1 functions as a scaffold that enhances iNOS activity and is crucial for the pulmonary response to P. aeruginosa infection (2).

Uniprot Description

KSR: a serine/threonine kinase of the Raf family with no demonstrated kinase activity. A location-regulated scaffolding protein connecting MEK to RAF. Promotes MEK and RAF phosphorylation and activity through assembly of an activated signaling complex. Interacts with RAF and MAPK/ERK, in a Ras-dependent manner. The binding of 14-3-3 proteins to phosphorylated KSR prevents the membrane localization. In unstimulated cells, the phosphorylated form is bound to a 14-3-3 protein and sequestered in the cytoplasm. Translocates from the cytoplasm to the cell periphery following TNF treatment. When Bad is available, ceramide signaling through the Ras/Raf cascade can lead to apoptosis. Three alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The KSR1 ksr1 (Catalog #AAA515515) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 335-end (L639F). AAA Biotech's KSR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Kinase Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the KSR1 ksr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KSR1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
