Related Product Information for KLK11 recombinant protein
Background: kallikrein-related peptidase 11 (KLK11), also known as hippostasin, trypsin-like serine protease, and PRSS2, is a member of the human tissue kallikrein family. It is a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions, which are implicated in carcinogenesis and some with potential that serving as novel biomarkers for ovarian and prostate cancer and other diseases. The KLK11 gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. Two alternatively spliced forms exist, resulting in 25 (isoform 1) and 282 (isoform 2) amino acid sequences. Isoform 2 is identical to isoform 1, except for an inserted 32 amino acid segment. Isoform 1 is predominantly expressed in the brain whereas isoform 2 is preferentially expressed in the prostate.

Uniprot Description

KLK11: Possible multifunctional protease. Efficiently cleaves 'bz-Phe-Arg-4-methylcoumaryl-7-amide', a kallikrein substrate, and weakly cleaves other substrates for kallikrein and trypsin. Cleaves synthetic peptides after arginine but not lysine residues. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Kallikrein subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The KLK11 klk11 (Catalog #AAA8123030) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Asn27 6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kallikrein 11, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
