Intended Uses: This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Ketohexokinase concentrations in serum, Plasma, tissue homogenates and Cell culture supernates and Other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Ketohexokinase. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Ketohexokinase and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Ketohexokinase, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The concentration of Ketohexokinase in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes ketohexokinase that catalyzes conversion of fructose to fructose-1-phosphate. The product of this gene is the first enzyme with a specialized pathway that catabolizes dietary fructose. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Catalyzes the phosphorylation of the ketose sugar fructose to fructose-1-phosphate.

Product Notes

The Human KHK khk (Catalog #AAA2882613) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2882613 ELISA Kit recognizes Human KHK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ketohexokinase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
