Related Product Information for KAT6B/MORF recombinant protein
Short Description: KAT6B (Lysine Acetyltransferase 6B), also called as MOZ2, MORF or MYST4, is a histone acetyltransferase and component of the MOZ/MORF protein complex. It has a histone H3 acetyltransferase activity. In addition to its acetyltransferase activity, the encoded full length protein has transcriptional activation activity in its N-terminal end and transcriptional repression activity in its C-terminal end. So it may be involved in both positive and negative regulation of transcription. KAT6B is necessary for RUNX2-dependent transcriptional activation and could be involved in brain development. Mutations have been found in patients with genitopatellar syndrome. A translocation of KAT6B gene and the CREBBP gene results in acute myeloid leukemias. It may also be involved in cerebral cortex development.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a histone acetyltransferase and component of the MOZ/MORF protein complex. In addition to its acetyltransferase activity, the encoded protein has transcriptional activation activity in its N-terminal end and transcriptional repression activity in its C-terminal end. This protein is necessary for RUNX2-dependent transcriptional activation and could be involved in brain development. Mutations have been found in patients with genitopatellar syndrome. A translocation of this gene and the CREBBP gene results in acute myeloid leukemias. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Product Notes

The KAT6B/MORF (Catalog #AAA389273) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "KAT6B/MORF, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
