Integrin alpha-7 (Itga7) Recombinant Protein | Itga7 recombinant protein
Recombinant Mouse Integrin alpha-7 (Itga7) , partial
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the integrin family of cell surface proteins that mediate cellular interactions with the extracellular matrix and other cells. The encoded transmembrane protein is the alpha subunit that forms a noncovalent heterodimer with the beta subunit to form the functional integrin receptor that binds to laminin. Mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit symptoms of progressive muscular dystrophy, impaired axonal regeneration and cerebral vascular defects. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2016]
Uniprot Description
Integrin alpha-7/beta-1 is the primary laminin receptor on skeletal myoblasts and adult myofibers. During myogenic differentiation, it may induce changes in the shape and mobility of myoblasts, and facilitate their localization at laminin-rich sites of secondary fiber formation. Involved in the maintenance of the myofibers cytoarchitecture as well as for their anchorage, viability and functional integrity. Mice carrying a ITGA7 null allele are viable and fertile, but show progressive muscular dystrophy starting soon after birth, but with a distinct variability in different muscle types. Required to promote contractile phenotype acquisition in differentiated airway smooth muscle (ASM) cells. Acts as Schwann cell receptor for laminin-2. Acts as a receptor of COMP and mediates its effect on vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) maturation ().

Product Notes
The Itga7 itga7 (Catalog #AAA1444148) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Integrin alpha-7 (Itga7), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
