Interphotoreceptor matrix proteoglycan 1 (IMPG1) Recombinant Protein | IMPG1 recombinant protein
Recombinant Human Interphotoreceptor matrix proteoglycan 1 (IMPG1)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a protein that is a major component of the retinal interphotoreceptor matrix. The encoded protein is a proteoglycan that is thought to play a role in maintaining viability of photoreceptor cells and in adhesion of the neural retina to the retinal pigment epithelium. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]
Uniprot Description
May interact with hyaluronan which may serve to form a basic macromolecular scaffold comprising the insoluble interphotoreceptor matrix.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interphotoreceptor matrix proteoglycan 1 (IMPG1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
