Biological Significance
There are four IgG subclasses (IgG1, 2, 3 and 4) in humans, named in order of their abundance in serum (IgG1 being the most abundant). IgG2 is the only IgG subclass which passes through the placenta at a level generally lower than that found in the mother. A deficiency of IgG2 indicates a poor antibody response to bacterial polysaccharides and can lead to increased susceptibility to infections caused by encapsulated bacteria.

Product Notes

The IgG2 (Catalog #AAA5308144) is an Immunoglobulin and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IgG2 protein, Immunoglobulin" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
