Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate IL4R in samples. An antibody specific for IL4R has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyIL4R present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for IL4R is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL4R bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description
Receptor for both interleukin 4 and interleukin 13. Couples to the JAK1/2/3-STAT6 pathway. The IL4 response is involved in promoting Th2 differentiation. The IL4/IL13 responses are involved in regulating IgE production and, chemokine and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammation. In certain cell types, can signal through activation of insulin receptor substrates, IRS1/IRS2 ().
