1.0% Trehalose
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilized
Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Lab recommends that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. Do not vortex.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Interleukin-28A (IL-28A) also known as interferon lambda-2 (IFNL2) is a member of the IL-10 interferon cytokine family. Similar to interferons, IL-28a is induced by viral infection and has anti-viral activity (Kempuraj et al. 2004). IL-28A can be produced by virus infected cells in the skin, leading to upregulation of proteins that inhibit virus replication. In this way, IL-28A may be involved with clearance of viruses in the skin (Wolk et al. 2010). Studies have also indicated that IL-28A is able to induce the innate and adaptive immune responses to engage in anti-tumor activity (Numasaki et al. 2007).
The recombinant Human interleukin-28A can be used to create a standard curve in a sandwich ELISA with purified Mouse anti Human interleukin-28A antibody, clone G04-5A2 as a capture antibody and biotinylated Mouse anti Human interleukin-28A antibody, clone G02-3A6 as the detection antibody.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a cytokine distantly related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. This gene, interleukin 28B (IL28B), and interleukin 29 (IL29) are three closely related cytokine genes that form a cytokine gene cluster on a chromosomal region mapped to 19q13. Expression of the cytokines encoded by the three genes can be induced by viral infection. All three cytokines have been shown to interact with a heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor that consists of interleukin 10 receptor, beta (IL10RB) and interleukin 28 receptor, alpha (IL28RA). Uniprot Description
IL28A: Cytokine with immunomodulatory activity. Up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. Displays potent antiviral activity. Also displays antitumor activity. Ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IL28RA. The ligand/receptor complex seems to signal through the Jak-STAT pathway. Belongs to the IL-28/IL-29 family.

Product Notes
The IL-28A ifnl2 (Catalog #AAA226183) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's INTERLEUKIN-28A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL-28A ifnl2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "INTERLEUKIN-28A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
