IFNAR1 protein solution (0.5mg/ml) contains Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) and 20% glycerol.
Store, frozen at -20 degree C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Description: IFNAR1 produced in Sf9 Insect cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 415 amino acids (28-436a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 47.9kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 57-70kDa). IFNAR1 is expressed with a 6 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

The protein encoded by this gene is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Binding and activation of the receptor stimulates Janus protein kinases, which in turn phosphorylate several proteins, including STAT1 and STAT2. The encoded protein also functions as an antiviral factor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Binding to type I IFNs triggers tyrosine phosphorylation of a number of proteins including JAKs, TYK2, STAT proteins and IFNR alpha- and beta-subunits themselves. Tyk2 tyrosine kinase is essential for stable cell surface expression of IFNAR1. Present in all tissues and even on the surface of most IFN-resistant cells.
