Related Product Information for IGHA1 immunoglobulin
In normal adult serum, the approximate percentage composition of IgA with respect to is subclasses is IgA1: 90% and IgA2: 10%. In secretory IgA, the subclass proportions may approach 50:50. The clinical significance of the subclasses has yet to be determined. No reaction by IEP to IgA2 antiserum. Prepared from myeloma plasma shown to be non reactive for HbsAG, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA approved tests. >95% pure by SDS-PAGE.

Uniprot Description

IGHA1: Ig alpha is the major immunoglobulin class in body secretions. It may serve both to defend against local infection and to prevent access of foreign antigens to the general immunologic system. A chromosomal aberration involving IGHA1 is found in multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines. Translocation t(1;14)(q21;q32) that forms a FCRL4-IGHA1 fusion protein.

Protein type: Immunoglobulin superfamily

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.33

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: antigen binding

Biological Process: retinal homeostasis; receptor-mediated endocytosis; glomerular filtration; antibacterial humoral response; immune response; protein-chromophore linkage

Product Notes

The IGHA1 igha1 (Catalog #AAA135562) is an Immunoglobulin produced from Human myeloma plasma and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IgA1, Human Myeloma Plasma, Immunoglobulin" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
