This is a TMB colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit with short assay time and quick experiment set up.
To measure Human TIMP3, add standards and samples to the wells, then add HRP linked detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Human TIMP3 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human TIMP3 in the sample.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene belongs to the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM). Expression of this gene is induced in response to mitogenic stimulation and this netrin domain-containing protein is localized to the ECM. Mutations in this gene have been associated with the autosomal dominant disorder Sorsby's fundus dystrophy. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
TIMP3: Complexes with metalloproteinases (such as collagenases) and irreversibly inactivates them by binding to their catalytic zinc cofactor. May form part of a tissue-specific acute response to remodeling stimuli. Known to act on MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, MMP-7, MMP-9, MMP-13, MMP-14 and MMP-15. Interacts with EFEMP1. Belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family.

Product Notes
The Human TIMP3 timp3 (Catalog #AAA1753921) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1753921 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TIMP3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIMP3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
