Related Product Information for PAP elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (also known as PAP) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human PAP antibody. PAP present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human PAP Antibody is added and binds to PAP in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated PAP antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human PAP. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate. It is synthesized under androgen regulation and is secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostate gland. An alternatively spliced transcript variant encoding a longer isoform has been found for this gene. This isoform contains a transmembrane domain and is localized in the plasma membrane-endosomal-lysosomal pathway. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

A non-specific tyrosine phosphatase that dephosphorylates a diverse number of substrates under acidic conditions (pH 4-6) including alkyl, aryl, and acyl orthophosphate monoesters and phosphorylated proteins. Has lipid phosphatase activity and inactivates lysophosphatidic acid in seminal plasma.

Product Notes

The Human PAP acpp (Catalog #AAA160307) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA160307 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PAP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prostatic Acid Phosphatase, PAP, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
