Intended Uses: This DDX46 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human DDX46. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: DDX46 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-DDX46 antibody and an DDX46-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with DDX46-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the DDX46 concentration since DDX46 from samples and DDX46-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-DDX46 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by DDX46 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind DDX46-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The DDX46 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the DEAD box protein family. DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. The protein encoded by this gene is a component of the 17S U2 snRNP complex; it plays an important role in pre-mRNA splicing. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

Product Notes

The Human DDX46 ddx46 (Catalog #AAA7241461) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7241461 ELISA Kit recognizes Human DDX46. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Probable ATP dependent RNA helicase DDX46 (DDX46), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
