Human Prefoldin Subunit 5 (PFDN5) ELISA Kit | PFDN5 elisa kit
Human Prefoldin Subunit 5 (PFDN5) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: Prefoldin subunit 5 is a member of the prefoldin alpha subunit family. The encoded protein is one of six subunits of prefoldin, a molecular chaperone complex that binds and stabilizes newly synthesized polypeptides, thereby allowing them to fold correctly. The complex, consisting of two alpha and four beta subunits, forms a double beta barrel assembly with six protruding coiled-coils. The encoded protein may also repress the transcriptional activity of the proto-oncogene c-Myc. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.Fluorescent microscopy showed MM1 expression primarily in the nucleus, with lower intensity in nucleoli and cytoplasm. Binding analyses indicated that MM1 and c-myc bind directly and that all but the N-terminal 13 amino acids of MM1 are required for binding.

Uniprot Description
PFDN5: Binds specifically to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and transfers target proteins to it. Binds to nascent polypeptide chain and promotes folding in an environment in which there are many competing pathways for nonnative proteins. Represses the transcriptional activity of MYC. Belongs to the prefoldin subunit alpha family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human PFDN5 pfdn5 (Catalog #AAA9714909) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9714909 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PFDN5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prefoldin Subunit 5 (PFDN5), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
