Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for PANX1 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Pannexin 1 (PANX1). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Pannexin 1 (PANX1). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Pannexin 1 (PANX1), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Pannexin 1 (PANX1) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the innexin family. Innexin family members are the structural components of gap junctions. This protein and pannexin 2 are abundantly expressed in central nerve system (CNS) and are coexpressed in various neuronal populations. Studies in Xenopus oocytes suggest that this protein alone and in combination with pannexin 2 may form cell type-specific gap junctions with distinct properties. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PANX1: Structural component of the gap junctions and the hemichannels. May play a role as a Ca(2+)-leak channel to regulate ER Ca(2+) homeostasis. Belongs to the pannexin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q21

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; protein complex; membrane; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to membrane; gap junction; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; protease binding; leak channel activity; protein heterodimerization activity; calcium channel activity; gap junction hemi-channel activity; receptor binding

Product Notes

The Human PANX1 panx1 (Catalog #AAA2024821) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2024821 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PANX1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Pannexin 1 (PANX1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
