Test Principle
This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate KLRC1 in samples. An antibody specific for KLRC1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyKLRC1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for KLRC1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of KLRC1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C. Please refer to Instruction Manual.

NCBI Description

Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor cells and virus-infected cells without previous activation. They can also regulate specific humoral and cell-mediated immunity. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the killer cell lectin-like receptor family, also called NKG2 family, which is a group of transmembrane proteins preferentially expressed in NK cells. This family of proteins is characterized by the type II membrane orientation and the presence of a C-type lectin domain. This protein forms a complex with another family member, KLRD1/CD94, and has been implicated in the recognition of the MHC class I HLA-E molecules in NK cells. The genes of NKG2 family members form a killer cell lectin-like receptor gene cluster on chromosome 12. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been observed. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NKG2A: Plays a role as a receptor for the recognition of MHC class I HLA-E molecules by NK cells and some cytotoxic T-cells. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human KLRC1 klrc1 (Catalog #AAA2802166) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2802166 ELISA Kit recognizes Human KLRC1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NKG2-A/NKG2-B type II integral membrane protein (KLRC1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
