Related Product Information for GFRA2 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Human GFRA2 Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Human GFRA2 with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for GFRA2. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for GFRA2. The capture antibody is a monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Human GFRA2 with immunogen: Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: S22-S444. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Human GFRA2, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Human GFRA2 in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Human GFRA2 in the sample.

NCBI Description

Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and neurturin (NTN) are two structurally related, potent neurotrophic factors that play key roles in the control of neuron survival and differentiation. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the GDNF receptor family. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPI)-linked cell surface receptor for both GDNF and NTN, and mediates activation of the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. This encoded protein acts preferentially as a receptor for NTN compared to its other family member, GDNF family receptor alpha 1. This gene is a candidate gene for RET-associated diseases. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

Uniprot Description

GFRA2: Receptor for neurturin. Mediates the NRTN-induced autophosphorylation and activation of the RET receptor. Also able to mediate GDNF signaling through the RET tyrosine kinase receptor. Belongs to the GDNFR family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8p21.3

Cellular Component: extrinsic to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor activity

Biological Process: nervous system development; negative regulation of protein amino acid autophosphorylation; transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway

Product Notes

The Human GFRA2 gfra2 (Catalog #AAA1752677) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1752677 ELISA Kit recognizes Human GFRA2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GFRA2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
