The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Fc Fragment Of IgG Low Affinity IIb, Receptor (FcgR2B). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Fc Fragment Of IgG Low Affinity IIb, Receptor (FcgR2B). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Fc Fragment Of IgG Low Affinity IIb, Receptor (FcgR2B), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The protein encoded by this gene is a low affinity receptor for the Fc region of immunoglobulin gamma complexes. The encoded protein is involved in the phagocytosis of immune complexes and in the regulation of antibody production by B-cells. Variations in this gene may increase susceptibilty to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
