Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Human Low Affinity Immunoglobulin Gamma Fc Region Receptor II-B (also known as FCGR2B) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Human FCGR2B antibody. FCGR2B present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Human FCGR2B Antibody is added and binds to FCGR2B in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FCGR2B antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human FCGR2B. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

The protein encoded by this gene is a low affinity receptor for the Fc region of immunoglobulin gamma complexes. The encoded protein is involved in the phagocytosis of immune complexes and in the regulation of antibody production by B-cells. Variations in this gene may increase susceptibilty to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Involved in a variety of effector and regulatory functions such as phagocytosis of immune complexes and modulation of antibody production by B-cells. Binding to this receptor results in down-modulation of previous state of cell activation triggered via antigen receptors on B-cells (BCR), T-cells (TCR) or via another Fc receptor. Isoform IIB1 fails to mediate endocytosis or phagocytosis. Isoform IIB2 does not trigger phagocytosis.CautionHas sometimes been attributed to correspond to FcR-IIC.
