Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the invitro quantitative determination of HumanCKLFSF8concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CKLFSF8. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for CKLFSF8and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain CKLFSF8, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of CKLFSF8.You can calculate the concentration of CKLFSF8in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

This gene is one of several chemokine-like factor genes located in a cluster on chromosome 3. This gene is widely expressed in many tissues, but the exact function of the encoded protein is unknown. CMTM8: a widely distributed protein with four transmembrane regions and a MARVEL domain. Associates with the epidermal growth factor receptor. Transfection into several cell lines suppresses EGF-induced cell proliferation and increases the rate of receptor endocytosis. The lack of EGFR-mediated signaling induces cells to undergo apoptosis via caspase-dependent and -independent pathways. Knockdown of CMTM8 by siRNA promotes cell proliferation and delayed EGFR endocytosis. Two splice-variant human isoforms have been reproted.
