Inter-Assay: CV
Test Principle
This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate CD9 in samples. An antibody specific for CD9 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyCD9 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CD9 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD9 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C. Please refer to Instruction Manual.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Tetraspanins are cell surface glycoproteins with four transmembrane domains that form multimeric complexes with other cell surface proteins. The encoded protein functions in many cellular processes including differentiation, adhesion, and signal transduction, and expression of this gene plays a critical role in the suppression of cancer cell motility and metastasis. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

CD9: Involved in platelet activation and aggregation. Regulates paranodal junction formation. Involved in cell adhesion, cell motility and tumor metastasis. Required for sperm-egg fusion. Belongs to the tetraspanin (TM4SF) family.

Product Notes

The Human CD9 cd9 (Catalog #AAA2802260) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2802260 ELISA Kit recognizes Human CD9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD9 antigen (CD9), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
