Related Product Information for ACYP2 recombinant protein
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Acylphosphate phosphohydrolase 2 is produced by our E Coli expression system and the target gene encoding Ser2-Tyr99 is expressed with a GST tag at the N-terminus.

Background: ACYP2, also known as Acylphosphatase-2, is a protein which belongs to the acylphosphatase family. ACYP2 contains one acylphosphatase-like domain. ACYP2 plays an important role in hydrolyzing the phosphoenzyme intermediate of different membrane pumps, particularly the Ca2+/Mg2+-ATPase from sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal muscle. Two isoenzymes have been isolated, called muscle acylphosphatase and erythrocyte acylphosphatase on the basis of their tissue localization. This gene encodes the muscle-type isoform (MT). An increase of the MT isoform is associated with muscle differentiation.

NCBI Description

Acylphosphatase can hydrolyze the phosphoenzyme intermediate of different membrane pumps, particularly the Ca2+/Mg2+-ATPase from sarcoplasmic reticulum of skeletal muscle. Two isoenzymes have been isolated, called muscle acylphosphatase and erythrocyte acylphosphatase on the basis of their tissue localization. This gene encodes the muscle-type isoform (MT). An increase of the MT isoform is associated with muscle differentiation. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]

Uniprot Description

Its physiological role is not yet clear.

Product Notes

The ACYP2 acyp2 (Catalog #AAA2556716) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Acylphosphate Phosphohydrolase 2, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
